ilike Skin Care Packaging Design

Description

Between 2014 and 2025, I worked on the "ilike Skin Care Packaging Design" project for Szép Élet LLC, the exclusive distributor of Hungarian Ilcsi organic cosmetic products in the U.S. and Canada, marketed under the name "ilike".

My responsibilities included creating product label and box designs, preparing them for press and collaborating with the press bureau to ensure the final printed materials met the desired quality standards.

During these years, I designed and produced well over 200 product labels and more than 100 product boxes. This work also included creating press-ready PDFs for the printing bureau. All of these artworks needed to be kept up to date by frequently adjusting the ingredients and various other text to comply with changing legal and industry requirements.

I also produced more than five hundred 3D product visualizations and image compositions, utilizing both photo editing software and advanced 3D modeling and rendering applications, all of which I used myself.

The images above showcase real world images of my own works featuring ilike products, illustrate detailed 3D renderings of various packaging types, such as lip balm tins and a hyaluronic elixir bottle with a dropper.

Other images present my 3D box padding calculations, which were essential for ensuring that the packaging protected the products securely during shipping and handling. The lower right shows an unwrapped box layout, demonstrating how the artwork was adapted to the dieline for accurate printing and assembly.

From a desktop publishing perspective, this project required careful attention to color management, precise alignment of artwork on dielines, and the integration of 3D visualization into the packaging workflow.

Tasks included preparing press-ready files, checking bleed and trim areas, and ensuring that all design elements translated accurately from digital mockups to physical packaging.

Potential pitfalls included misalignment during the die-cutting process, color inconsistencies between digital proofs and printed materials, and ensuring the structural integrity of the packaging design in 3D modelling matched real-world requirements.

Consistent communication with the press bureau was necessary to address any technical challenges and to achieve the intended visual and functional results.
