Description
The software was designed for children 8-10 years of age. Nowhere Castle, with its storybook game format, was prepared specifically with primary school children in mind.
I served as both the developer and game designer, managing all aspects of its creation except for the hand-drawn illustrations. The hand drawings were provided by a designer, but I was responsible for everything else, including programming, minigame concepts and creating all the user interface elements.
The application consists of twelve distinct interactive games, some of them are:
The intro and the main screen
After the opening introduction, in which Alfonzo tells the story on the meadow in front of the castle, players begin each round by selecting a room. After all twelve rooms have been successfully mastered and all twelve keys are recovered, the player must locate the door to the Cellar.
Scales and Weights
The player must set the given quantities on the scale.
Python Puzzle
The aim of the game is to put the different parts of the snake in order.
Faulty Painting
The player has to find the same color. An appropriate color must be mixed in order to find the same color given in the other picture.
Rest of the minigames
All in all, there are twelve minigames to complete.
