National Archives of Hungary Games

Description

The National Archives of Hungary (Magyar Nemzeti Levéltár) is a public state institution that preserves not only documents and family records considered national treasures but also those of other significant value.

I took on the roles of both developer and game designer, handling all aspects of its creation except for the initial splash screen illustrations, which were provided by another designer. I was responsible for everything else, including programming and designing the user interaction pathways and elements of the interface.

The application consists of four distinct interactive games, as follows:

Herold – Coat of arms designer

This design game allows players to easily assemble a coat of arms by offering a variety of symbols, colors, and patterns to choose from.

Stempli! – A memory game

A classic memory game with a twist: after successfully finding all the matching stamp images, players can click on each stamp to view it in an enlarged format and learn more about its history.

Szignó – A game about personal signatures

This game centers around personal signatures, allowing players to explore the unique signatures of historical and famous figures throughout history. Players are challenged to replicate these signatures, using their skills and attention to detail. Successfully copying these iconic signatures provides an educational experience.

Kurír – A newspaper cover creator

In this game, players can choose from various historical eras while specifying the style and potential topic of the newspaper cover. To design the cover, they can type in the their own text and add images, allowing for a personalized and creative experience.
